When will the season start and end? |
A:

Typically, Spring season games start in late February and continue through last weekend in April. Games are played on Saturday until the Time Change occurs providing more daylight during the week. At which time, weekday games are also played. |

When are practices and games? What day will I practice? |

Typically, practices are held on weeknights. The days that a team will practice is left up to the manager for each team. On average there would be approximately 1-3 practices a week. When weekday games start, the number of weekly practices drops. |

Are uniforms provided? |

Yes, a jersey and a pair of socks are covered by part of the registration fees. Uniforms will be ordered as soon as teams are formed, so it is very important that you attend the fitting time that will be assigned to your team.

How will I be notified if my daughter makes the team?

The team manager will reach out to all selected players within 24 hours of the selection process.

Does every player get to play in every game?

Unlike All-Stars, each player who is able to play and is present for the game must play each game unless prior league approval is given.

Can a player play “played up” during the rec ball season?
|
A:
|
All players who wish to be eligible to “play up” during the regular rec ball season must be evaluated during evals in both their age appropriate division and the division they wish to play up in. A player who does not evaluate in both divisions is not eligible to play up. All applications of players who evaluated to play up will be reviewed by the Board. No player shall play up without Board approval. Note - A player may be moved up or down a division if the manager, Division Director, and Player Agent feel the player should be moved for safety considerations. All-Stars: Players who played up during the rec ball season are not eligible to play up during All-Stars without the approval of the Board. Board approval of a player to "play up" during All-Stars very seldom happens. See the policies and procedures for more information on "playing up". |

Can a player who “played down” during the rec ball season play down during all-stars?

All players who “play down” during the regular rec ball season are eligible for the all-star team in their age-eligible division only. Under no circumstances will a player be allowed to play down for All-Stars. This is an ASA rule.

What are the "Field Closure due to Wet Conditions" policies and procedures? |
A:
|
During wet weather episodes, TOGSA typically follows what the Conejo Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) does for the fields at Thousand Oaks Community Center (TOCC). CRPD posts field status to their Field Conditions website by 3:00 pm on weekdays and 7:30 am on weekends. On days where the rain has stopped and a TOGSA member is available, the fields may be physically inspected to determine whether the infield, outfield, or both may be opened for use on that day. On school days, physical inspection can only take place after 3:30 pm as TOGSA is not allowed on school grounds until then. When a TOGSA member is available during the school day, the field may be inspected earlier than 3:30 pm with school permission.
When the LCMS softball fields are closed by TOGSA, league members cannot practice individually or with their respective teams on the LCMS softball fields. This policy is in place for the protection of the players, TOGSA member families, and LCMS softball fields Violation of this policy may result in loss of practice or playing time. Teams may make practice plans at alternate locations during fields closures. |

Can a player request not to play for a manager, coach, or play with another player?
|
A:

Yes, this is called a "Red Card". A player may make a request "Red Card" not to play for a specific manager or coach, or play with another player by contacting the Player Agent or President or stating the request in the Comments section of registration. A request to play for a specific manager or coach will not be accepted, except in the 6U division. Only one Red Card request may be made per player and must be received prior to the end of Evaluations. A Red Card may be received after Evaluations, however, Red Cards will be used as advisements to the Board during the draft process. Red Card requests are kept confidential. A manager will only be notified to bypass a player if the manager happens to select that player during the Draft. No reason will be given to the manager. All Red Cards will be vetted by either the President, Player Agent, or Director of Rules and Ethics. To submit a Red Card, download Red Card Form, complete and submit as instructed on form.
NOTE: Misuse or misrepresentation of the Red Card request will not be tolerated and could result in sanctions, including expulsion, imposed by the TOGSA Board of Directors.
