2023 SELECT PROGRAM


The 8U, 10U and 12U SELECT teams will consist of girls that have developed a higher level of softball skills. “Select” is a program developed by USA Softball for girls seeking a higher level of competitive softball in additional to their rec ball season. The TOGSA SELECT teams will practice and/or play games together, once a week, during the recreational season. Members of the team will be on two teams - a spring rec team and the Select team. Select teams are for 8U, 10U and 12U division players only. Players who wish to participate on select teams and who are ultimately chosen to participate should aspire to be on the gold all-star teams for the 2021 All-Star Season.

 

To be considered for the T.O. SELECT team, players must sign up on the interest list, must be registered for the 2021 spring rec season,, and must attend the try-outs (to be announced at a later date).  

Players and parents must also commit to the following:

  1. An additional day of practice or game(s) per week. This additional day of practice or game(s) will most likely be on Sunday and will include tournament-style play.

  2. All players who wish to play up during the spring season are eligible for T.O. SELECT in their age eligible division only. No player shall play up for this program.

  3. Agree to pay the shared costs associated with the season (uniform, tournament / game fees, special instruction, etc).  The costs will be determined by the manager and typically ranges between $100 and $200 per player.

  4. The player must participate in at least 75% of her spring rec team’s games to be eligible for the SELECT team and for 2021 All-Stars.

  5. Understand that by participating on the T.O. SELECT program, this does not guarantee your daughter a spot on a 2023 All Star team.

T.O. SELECT Team Selection

The Select Committee will determine the SELECT team based on player interest and if needed the tryout evaluations. The evaluators will be independent and will follow a set format. Tryouts are December 7th.)

T.O. SELECT Manager Candidates:

Coaches who are interested in managing a SELECT team should email the Player Agent at toplayeragent@togsa.org .  The board will approve the managers prior to tryouts.
